8th Annual Multiple Sclerosis Bowling Fundraiser & Silent Auction
December 6, 2009 from 12 pm – 2 pm at May City Bowl in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (December 4, 2009) – Just over thirteen years ago, Skywalk Group Partner, Elizabeth Trcka, and her family, learned that her sister had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.  After being impacted by this disease personally, Ms. Trcka decided she wanted to do something to help.  This is where it all started.

In addition to being a partner at Skywalk Group, Ms. Trcka and her husband, Tom, also own and operate May City Bowl in Cedar Rapids.  Trcka says, “Creating and organizing the bowling fundraiser for multiple sclerosis is just one small way that we can help.”

Trcka’s efforts have not gone unnoticed by other multiple sclerosis chapters throughout the country.  She has helped at least three other states implement similar fundraisers.  “We continue to add and improve our own fundraiser each year.  For example, this year we have added a silent auction to increase the overall dollars that we raise,” says Trcka.  She believes the highlight of the silent auction is an autographed, 8 x 10 photograph of local golfer, Zach Johnson, on the PGA Tour.  However, there are numerous other packages available including RoughRiders tickets, Iowa Men’s Basketball tickets, Iowa Speedway seats, Grand Harbor Resort stay, and more.

Several Skywalk Group employees will be bowling this Sunday to support Ms. Trcka and the multiple sclerosis fundraiser.  Skywalk Group Recruiter, Ellen Teller, says, “This is an easy way to give to a cause that is near and dear to Elizabeth’s heart.  Also, it is the perfect opportunity to spend time with our families and co-workers outside of the office.”
