Reviewing resumes can be a time-consuming process for hiring managers.  Although you want to stand out from the crowd, you also want to make sure that your resume stands up to the most basic scrutiny.

• Simple, short, and concise formats ensure ease-of-use for HR personnel and recruiters.
• Utilize chronological format unless you are seeking an executive level position.
• Proofread obsessively and ask others to read your resume as well.
• Do not leave gaps between employment dates.
• Do not include personal references.
