Skywalk Group’s client is a fast growing and profitable software startup in the San Francisco Bay Area building leading edge data transport technology, is seeking highly motivated engineers to join their software development team. The position will create, design, and implement the software and teaching examples for our Software Development Kit, a widely used open architecture SDK with desktop, web based, cloud storage, and mobile APIs that utilize their core transport technology. Candidates with strong software development skills (C++, Java, Web technologies), and experience creating effective, capable APIs  are encouraged to apply.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Design and develop desktop, browser and backend (cloud and server) APIs for third parties embedding high performance data and file transport software
• Create developer documentation and code samples for the Developer Network (an online community portal for  software developers)
• Develop and maintain unit and system testing frameworks for the SDK, and ensure correctness, robustness and usability of the developed software and APIs
• Support 3rd parties using the APIs with expert troubleshooting and best practices education
• Contribute creatively to the evolution of the product line

Required Skills

• Excellent programming skills in C or C++
• Excellent ability and passion for correct code and design patterns, with debugging expertise (including code developed by others)
• Knowledge of Java and .NET frameworks
• Strong understanding of REST and other web services design principles
• Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5 and other current front end dynamic/web programming, and back end frameworks such as Ruby on Rails
• Past experience developing, defining, and expert use of software APIs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly self-motivated and able to achieve results on tight timelines
• Desire to change the world of network data delivery!

Required Experience

Desired Background:

B.Sc. or greater in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline (MSc or PhD is great)

At least 2 Years of professional software development experience or graduate school equivalent (more preferable)
