In many organizations, employees feel like there is a managerial ladder and a technical stump in terms of career development. So naturally, the majority of employees opt for the managerial track. However, in many cases, they make this decision without fully understanding what it takes to be a successful manager and leader in an organization. And unfortunately, many organizations take a sink or swim approach to management development. Therefore, your best chance of survival is to educate and develop yourself so that you can make that swim across the channel.
I went to this workshop while already in a management role, and took four of my new leaders with me. This was a great workshop for those new to managing staff and for others that think they would like to do this someday. It was an eye opener and reinforced some of the tips I have been passing onto them. I think all four of my staff found this helpful and I know this course helped to reinforce my teaching to them. The facilitator was fully engaged and made the class enjoyable.
