3 Key Questions During a Job Interview

Questions to ask during interview

Securing a job interview is an exciting step in your professional life. Before you sit down with your potential future employer, it is important to research and be prepared. Developing a list of questions to ask at the end of the interview may showcase your engagement, and set you apart from the competition. Skywalk Group recommends these three key questions to help score your dream career.

1.) What is the best aspect about this company?

From the way you dress, to how you craft your resume, an interview allows you to present the most polished version of yourself. Although this is essential in displaying your ability to do the job, it can also cause you to blend in with your competitors. By asking the interviewee what they find most enjoyable about their job, you are connecting with them on a personal level. It also allows you to gain valuable insight into the inner workings of the company. If they struggle to answer, it could be a sign of potential problems within the organization.

2.) What do you view as an area that could use the most improvement?

Employers need to know that you can help their organization. Asking about the areas that could use the most improvement gives you vital information about their future strategy and how you can help. Follow up with questions about techniques that have worked or have not worked in the past. If you see a potential solution or idea that they have not considered, don’t hesitate to suggest it. By comparing ideas, you already are assuming a level of teamwork with your employer and proving your excitement for the opportunity.

3.) Do you have any hesitations about my qualifications to do this job?

As the interview concludes, do not leave any questions on the table. If they see any shortcomings in your skills or qualifications, it can hinder your chance to secure the position. However, by asking them to address them with you, it gives you the opportunity to counter. Offer examples of work you have done to prove that you have the skills it takes to do the job right.

Asking these key questions at the end of your job interview proves your ability, and desire, to benefit the company. However, securing your perfect career takes additional time and effort.  For more tips, Skywalk Group offers resources for job seekers, to help prepare you for every step of the job hunting process.
